it's no secret i love mine. now you can only imagine my excitement when i happened upon this image today:

that is my great aunt imagene. next to her is her husband, orville. this is from our last family reunion.

wind of change.

it's not just a power ballad anymore. june 2011 cannot come soon enough. perhaps it will arrive sooner than we all think...

until then, thinking about march will suffice...as i plan to be here:

detox.

after a wonderful weekend of adventures and gluttony (thank you vegas and zion's), it is time to detox. i will embark on female-dom like never before: full-body massage, mani/pedi that involves soaking my skin in wax (what?), european facial (huh?), and endless sessions of hot yoga.

i guess there is a first time for everything...

triple threat.

last friday marked my second time attending bingo/karaoke night at the senior center. one word could only describe the evening: magical.

my friend, austin, was kind enough to tape part of my performance:

what you don't see are my impeccable splits that shortly followed this verse. alls i'm saying is that my 14-year-old self would be quite proud of my newly found flexibility. i would like to also note that i became fast friends with an old jewish man that did not spare me of any of his age-old wisdom. i imagine his name to be herb...

5. 4. 3. 2...

apparently counting down does not only work on kids, but adults too. this was tested and tried a few weeks ago at work, when a heavily inebriated  man came into my work and made lewd comments to me. i responded by letting him know he needed to leave immediately. as i approached the door to open it for him, he then reached out to hug me and i said that if he didn't leave in 5 seconds then i would call the cops. i then began the inevitable and dreaded countdown...5...4...3...2...he was gone by the time i reached 2.

the sad part was that i was not consciously aware that i was counting down to this adult man, until my coworkers pointed it out after the fact. but it worked, right?

ridiculous.

if my life could be summed up in one word, this would be it. and i am grateful for it, because it is HILARIOUS.

multi-task.

reading books from the library has led me to do the unthinkable: read multiple books at once.

right now i am in the midst of reading:

at any given moment you could find me reading any one of these. in fact, sometimes you can find me carrying two of them at once. this is something that i thought would never be the case....here's to newly developed multi-tasking skills...

shirts.

i love free shirts. i love shirts that have memories...which is probably why i have so many t-shirts. it's a staple clothing that i wear, quite possibly everyday.

throughout the years there has been love and loss with these shirts. these are the ones i miss the most that have been lost:

  • my bombardment society t-shirt
  • my styx/reo-speedwagon shirt from their 2005 concert i attended
  • my vintage 80's gte shirt that i wore at least once a week in high school
it's short and sweet, but i normally finding myself wishing that i could wear at least one or all at least once during the week.

hot. hot. hot. yoga.

while doing the locust pose at hot yoga this evening, the gent next to me belched twice...once during each pose. my yoga instructor tripped over her words while trying not to laugh. and all i could think to myself was that he must be doing something right....

birthday magic.

imri and i took the train to vancouver over the weekend. if you get a chance, you should take it. it goes right along the waterfront and if you don't sleep through the ride (ahhheeemmm, imri) then you get to see some beautiful views along the sound.

here is his birthday cake that i slaved away all day on:

happy, happy (late) birthday sir.

ps. i have great friends in canada. too great.

little(tall) brother.

i have a really talented brother. for christmas, he painted my dad and me these:

his inspirations:

he said i have a really difficult face to paint. i'm not sure whether that is a compliment or otherwise. it doesn't matter. because he is just too talented for his own good. lovelovelove.

ps. the middle picture is of my shortshortshort hair. just done by the beautiful and talented connie.

read.

sometimes google reader overwhelms me. my reaction? if i ignore it will go away...or get worse? ughhhh.
